Happy Fathers’ Day!

Dear Trinity Church Family,

By now you know that I will begin serving as your Pastor on July 1st. Bonnie and I began our ministry on the Indiana District in 1982 when after finishing Seminary I was appointed to the Manorville /Rogers Chapel Charge. We spent four years there before moving to our present appointment.

Since being appointed to Trinity we have seen and heard good things about your ministry to persons and in the community, your active and alive membership and your heart for Jesus. We met with most of the staff to begin getting acquainted and, of course, Pastor George has spoken highly of you. We want to thank George and Kathleen for their service and the ministry they have performed on your behalf, on behalf of the church and on behalf of Christ. May God richly bless them in their new adventure.

As you might imagine after being at one church for 23 years, it is rather difficult to make a transition. We have been involved in the lives of so many people for such a long time. It is an  emotionally tender time. But God is faithful and we trust in His love and presence in our lives no matter where we are or where we go.

We begin a new chapter in our lives, as you do. With you we will watch with anticipation what God will do. The Bible is clear in Romans 8, that, “in ALL things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

We trust the promises God makes in His Word.

Like the Psalmist we will “sing to the LORD, praise His name; proclaim His salvation day after day.” We “declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples.” (Psalm 96) That’s why we are coming to Trinity Church – to praise God; to proclaim salvation through Jesus alone; to declare His glory and His marvelous deeds to all people. May God lead, guide, and richly bless us as we begin our lives together.

In Christ,

Pastor Greg and Bonnie Golden
